isdaT international policy statement
The isdaT — institut supérieur des arts et du design de Toulouse (isdaT— Toulouse Higher Institute of Arts and Design) is a public institution of higher artistic education offering training in five major fields: art, design, graphic design, music and dance. Located in Toulouse, the dynamic capital of the Occitanie region, the isdaT enjoys a rich and stimulating cultural environment. Its geographical position, between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic, facilitates its openness to many horizons and reinforces its international dimension.
Every year, the isdaT welcomes students from all over the world, and offers them numerous opportunities for international mobility as part of their studies. Today, the institute is partnered with a wide network of schools and universities in Europe, America, Asia and beyond, offering each student the chance to develop an international career path that is at once academic, artistic and human. Exchanges are in place with numerous establishments in Spain, Italy, Portugal, Mexico, Brazil and Argentina. These partnerships enable us to nurture our students’ training through contact with artistic scenes with strong identities, while building lasting bridges between cultures. Asia is also a strategic focus, with partnerships to be developed with Japan and China. The institute also maintains regular collaborations with Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and Switzerland, among its historical and priority partners.
This international policy is part of the Erasmus + charter, which is closely monitored by the institute. Each partnership is regularly evaluated: active exchanges are strengthened to foster lasting links, while inactive cooperations may be redirected or closed if necessary. This approach guarantees the quality of exchanges and ensures that our students and staff enjoy rich and enriching mobility experiences.
The isdaT is also committed to the principles of inclusion, equality and transparency. Selection procedures for mobile students and the awarding of scholarships are based on fair criteria, with particular attention paid to the most vulnerable groups. Likewise, foreign students receive special support to help them successfully integrate into the school and the city. These principles are upheld on a daily basis by the entire educational community, supported by a dedicated team of student, teaching, administrative and technical staff, all working towards a common goal: to make a tangible difference to the implementation of the values of equality within the school.
By affirming its commitment to open, lively creation that is connected to the world, the isdaT enables its students to develop a singular artistic trajectory rooted in Toulouse but resolutely turned towards the international arena.
