Or is it possible to capture the change of light. What is there to find in terms of nature, traffic, dynamics of the time passing.\u00a0This week we are going to discover how to capture a place, what you can do with a place to make it an artwork but also what the place give back to the work, to you.\u00a0We will use all kinds of techniques. photographing, filming, performing, writing, narrating, drawing etc.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.paulienoltheten.nl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Paulien Oltheten<\/a> analyzes human behaviour in public space, often in direct contact with passers-by. With an eager sense of curiosity she seeks out situations that allow her to emphasizing poetic or rhythmic details: people maneuvering awkward luggage, remarkable postures, playful ritual gestures, or repetitive routines that leave visual marks on their surroundings. Like a contemporary urban anthropologist, Oltheten documents such acts and patterns \u2013 often subtly connected to a specifically chosen location or context. She then structures and annotates her research materials to craft a perceptive narrative in the form of photography and video, publications, lectures and performances.<\/p>\n<p>Oltheten studied at the Royal Academy of Arts and Design in \u2019s-Hertogenbosch (2000-2004) and the Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten in Amsterdam (2005-2006). Her work has been shown (a.o.) at Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Nederlands Fotomuseum (Rotterdam) and Galerie Fons Welters (Amsterdam), Jeu de Paume (Paris), Moscow Museum of Modern Art and Museum of Contemporary Photography (Chicago), among others.
