Ils deviennent artistes dans une \u00e9poque d\u00e9sorient\u00e9e. Sans parole, hypnotis\u00e9 par la musique du tandem Avia x Orly, le montage fusionne les gestes, les signes, les \u00e9v\u00e8nements du monde et la vie quotidienne des deux \u00e9tudiants de mars 2017 \u00e0 mars 2018. Le film exploite la fr\u00e9n\u00e9sie de l&#8217;industrie num\u00e9rique \u00e0 travers une proposition plastique, il d\u00e9cline les paradoxes d&#8217;une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 qui c\u00e9l\u00e8bre les \u00e9v\u00e9nements de Mai 68, cinquante ans apr\u00e8s. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<strong>NE TRAVAILLE PAS<\/strong>&#8221;<br \/>\nSe disait d\u2019un artiste ou saltimbanque dans la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9-68.<br \/>\nS\u2019\u00e9crivait sous la variante <em>Ne travaillez jamais\u00a0<\/em>sur les murs en Mai 68.<br \/>\nSynonyme de &#8220;ch\u00f4mage&#8221; en 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Elsa Michaud et Gabriel Gauthier sont issus des g\u00e9n\u00e9rations post 68 qui ont vu l&#8217;\u00e9clatement de la cellule familiale, finalement les premiers enfants issus de parents qui n&#8217;ont pas grandi dans un monde pr\u00e9-68. Ils sont au c\u0153ur de la p\u00e9riode num\u00e9rique qui m\u00e9tamorphose l&#8217;ensemble de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 contemporaine. Ils vivent la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 d&#8217;une \u00e9poque chaotique. Ils ont le d\u00e9sir (la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 ?) de l&#8217;art et \u00e9tudient \u00e0 l&#8217;\u00e9cole des Beaux-Arts de Paris, pratiquent la danse et la po\u00e9sie. Ils vivent ensemble et ont des projets (de vie, d&#8217;art) en commun, ils r\u00e9fl\u00e9chissent et passent \u00e0 l&#8217;acte. En avril 2018, ils ont montr\u00e9 leur premi\u00e8re cr\u00e9ation <em>COVER\u00a0<\/em>\u00e0 la M\u00e9nagerie de Verre \u00e0 Paris.<\/p>\n<p>Il s&#8217;agissait de montrer la vie d&#8217;Elsa Michaud et Gabriel Gauthier en regard du monde dans lequel ils \u00e9voluent. Ou comment penser l&#8217;histoire d&#8217;une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 globalis\u00e9e au moment du cinquantenaire de Mai 68 en France. Faire un constat qui appose une r\u00e9alit\u00e9 particuli\u00e8re \u00e0 l&#8217;\u00e9tat de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Parce que l&#8217;\u00e9poque est ultra bavarde. Bavarde d&#8217;images et de sons, de repr\u00e9sentations. Parce que l&#8217;\u00e9poque est ultra rapide, dans la propagation et la disparition des images, des sons et des id\u00e9es. Parce que l&#8217;\u00e9poque est obsc\u00e8ne, injuste et violente. Je souhaitais r\u00e9v\u00e9ler les reflets de celle-ci \u00e0 travers l&#8217;esth\u00e9tique des comportements et l&#8217;\u00e9tat des choses.<\/p>\n<p>La surdit\u00e9, l&#8217;aveuglement, la vacuit\u00e9 et la vulgarit\u00e9 du monde politique. Le narcissisme et l&#8217;exhibitionnisme engendr\u00e9 par les comportements &#8220;num\u00e9riques&#8221;. L&#8217;agressivit\u00e9 des injustices sociales dans un monde ou aucune r\u00e8gle, aucune valeur ne semble plus limiter l&#8217;action des dirigeants ou l&#8217;ampleur des d\u00e9rives id\u00e9ologiques observ\u00e9es ne se limite pas \u00e0 l&#8217;opposition ancien \/ moderne, gauche \/ droite et recouvre un territoire aux contours flous face auquel il est difficile de se positionner. Se positionner c&#8217;est un acte intellectuel, c&#8217;est aussi avoir une position physique, une forme qui raconte un \u00e9tat mental. Les gestes et l&#8217;aspect des choses expriment l&#8217;\u00e9tat du monde, et parfois l&#8217;expliquent. La vision des comportements d\u2019Elsa Michaud et Gabriel Gauthier manifeste une forme de r\u00e9sistance instinctive.<\/p>\n<p>Mai 68 a d\u00e9j\u00e0 fait couler beaucoup d&#8217;encre et produit beaucoup d&#8217;images, trop. Mon id\u00e9e n&#8217;\u00e9tait pas de d\u00e9montrer que les r\u00e9volutions ne servent qu&#8217;\u00e0 renouveler les \u00e9lites et que le monde est d\u00e9finitivement &#8220;foutu&#8221; en proposant la vision d&#8217;un id\u00e9alisme d\u00e9sabus\u00e9, puisque que l&#8217;on pourrait l\u00e9gitiment remarquer qu&#8217;in fine, d&#8217;un certain point de vue, rien n\u2019a chang\u00e9. Le monde traverse une mutation sid\u00e9rante, il est en crise et en guerre, il est difficile de le qualifier tellement il nous d\u00e9passe. La France \u00e0 v\u00e9cu au tempo surr\u00e9aliste d&#8217;une \u00e9lection pr\u00e9sidentielle hors norme. Il me semblait important d&#8217;en proposer une version subjective, anthropologique, sensible et concern\u00e9e. Une n\u00e9cessaire autre fa\u00e7on de documenter cette r\u00e9alit\u00e9.<br \/>\nC\u00e9sar Vayssi\u00e9<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cesarvayssie.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>C\u00e9sar Vayssi\u00e9<\/strong><\/a> r\u00e9alise des films qui s\u2019aventurent hors des fronti\u00e8res du cin\u00e9ma. Il con\u00e7oit \u00e9galement des formes vivantes qui associent recherche plastique et performance, il collabore notamment avec Boris Charmatz, Fran\u00e7ois Chaignaud et Philippe Quesne. Apr\u00e8s des \u00e9tudes aux Beaux-Arts de Dijon, il est pensionnaire \u00e0 la Villa M\u00e9dicis \u00e0 Rome (1996-97), et r\u00e9alise le film <em>Elvis De M\u00e9dicis<\/em>, co-\u00e9crit avec l&#8217;\u00e9crivain Yves Pag\u00e8s. \u00c0 travers de nombreux films exp\u00e9rimentaux, des performances et des installations, il cherche des ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes narratifs et d\u00e9veloppe la relation art et politique \u00e0 travers l&#8217;engagement des corps. Le film <em>UFE (UNFILM\u00c9V\u00c8NEMENT)\u00a0<\/em>re\u00e7oit le prix Georges De Beauregard et le prix du public au FID Festival International de Cin\u00e9ma Marseille 2016.
