Lessons by Quentin Jouret — ABCDrawing 2021-2022
In this course, the aim is to approach drawing in all its diversity, richness and vitality:
- As a fundamental and everyday medium, it allows us to confront the world, to observe it, to interpret it, to understand it (notebooks, observation sketches, daily drawing);
- A tool for reflection and thought, it is also the first gesture of any creator who experiments and projects themselves into their future work (sketches, plans and various notes);
- However, it is also an art form in its own right, with its own history and ambitions (current design and committed practice of contemporary art).
From there, the course will take place at different times throughout the week, joyful and demanding workshops in which everyone can get involved. On the agenda: art history lessons, learning exercises, models, outings, travel, discoveries of tools and supports, discussions and sharing…
An important part of the course is also devoted to the follow-up of personal projects in order to best support those who wish to develop an ambitious artistic approach and embark on contemporary creation. An exhibition of works by the most invested students is organised at the end of each year.
